Willis Towers Watson appoints Jennifer Tiang as Regional Cyber Leader in Asia

Willis Towers Watson has announced the appointment of Jennifer Tiang as Regional Cyber Leader in Asia...

In this new role, Jennifer leads the company’s cyber insurance business in Asia, together with a team of 10 other cyber champions across the region. She will drive business growth and implement new and innovative cyber ideas and solutions to help organisations mitigate rapidly evolving cyber risks.

Based in Singapore, Jennifer will be part of the company’s Financial & Executive Risks (FINEX) business. The division focuses on financial, executive and professional risks within Willis Towers Watson’s Corporate Risk and Broking business. Jennifer reports to Namit Mahajan, Head of FINEX Asia, and Peter Foster, Chairman of Global FINEX Cyber and Cyber Risk Solutions.

Commenting on the appointment, Namit said, “COVID 19 has created new challenges for businesses as they transition into a new operating model of remote working. Companies are accelerating their digital transformation and cybersecurity is now a major concern. We are delighted to have Jennifer on board to lead our Asia cyber team which continues to be a key pillar of our business. With her diverse experience, Jennifer will be able to bring valuable insights on cyber risks with our market leading solutions that will help our clients in navigating the changing Cyber landscape of this new environment.”

Peter Foster commented, “With the threat of ransomware attacks affecting organisations around the globe, it is critical to have the right Cyber resources positioned to assist our clients. Jennifer brings the necessary experience and communication skills to advise and source valuable information to clients at the most critical time.”

Jennifer brings with her a broad background in legal, risk and insurance advisory. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, she was a Cyber and Directors & Officers (D&O) underwriter in Tokio Marine in Singapore for three years. Jennifer was responsible for overseeing regional deployment of underwriting guidelines across key segments including Power & Utilities, Financial Institutions and Logistics and Shipping. Before that, she was a Cyber, Professional Indemnity and D&O broker at Marsh in New Zealand for five years, advising large corporate clients on liability risks, with a key focus on technology and digital risks. Before joining the corporate risk and insurance broking industry, Jennifer was a commercial litigator in Auckland, New Zealand.
