The International Underwriting Association (IUA) has appointed a consultant to help its member companies make the most of their use of central London Market processing services.

A review of service levels will be conducted and the full range of end-end-end business processes analysed, including the placement of contracts.

The association has agreed a nine month contract with Peter Sammons, a former Business Integration Lead at XL Catlin, to conduct this work. He will consider the current service levels linked to IUA members’ use of business processing facilities operated by DXC and make recommendations for ensuring these are well documented and understood. Reports and management information from the London Market’s central bureau will also be reviewed to confirm companies are able to access all the data they require.

Louise Day, IUA Director of Operations, said: “In recent years the London Market has introduced a number of important new initiatives to make our central business processes more modern and efficient. IUA members are working hard to run, use and integrate these solutions across their own individual operations.

“Peter’s appointment will help firms with this process and make sure that they are well placed to maximise the benefits they receive from their use of all the central services. He will also help us explore options for more detailed and practical reporting documentation.”

Peter Sammons has extensive London Market experience, including key roles in establishing two start-up operations. He will be working with members of both the IUA’s Process Efficiency Group and Technical Accounting User Group during his time with the association.

Meanwhile, the IUA has also appointed Nicola Yuill for a 12 month contract to cover a period of maternity leave. She will be working as a personal assistant to the chief executive, director of operations and legal services team.
