Commenting on the new sponsorship Matthew Moore, President & Managing Director at Liberty Specialty Markets said: “I’m delighted to announce that we are the new sponsor for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 13.  As a leading provider of Fine Art & Specie coverage across the globe to both galleries and private collectors, we’re passionate about the visual arts sector and bringing important collections to the public. It is a privilege to sponsor this collection and continue nearly 20 years of association with Royal Museums Greenwich.

“The awe-inspiring exhibition will showcase images that capture the wonders of the Universe and the incredible skill of the astrophotographers. They bring us unique perspectives of our planet and the cosmos, encouraging us to see our world afresh.”

Astronomy Photographer of the Year is run by Royal Observatory Greenwich in association with BBC Sky at Night Magazine. Now in its thirteenth year, the competition received over 4,500 entries from 75 countries. The best of these exceptional photographs – winners, runners-up, highly commended and shortlisted – will be showcased in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year 13 exhibition at the National Maritime Museum.
