Layton joins Beazley to head broker relations and marketing

Beazley has appointed Lou Ann Layton to succeed Dan Jones as global head of broker relations and marketing following Dan’s decision to retire from Beazley in June 2019...

Lou Ann began her career in insurance as a management liability lines underwriter before turning to broking in 1987 when she joined Marsh as a directors & officers practice leader. She held various senior positions at Marsh across the United States, most recently as head of the US south east region where she was responsible for client initiatives, new business and talent development.


Based in Atlanta, Lou Ann’s new role will involve travel across Beazley’s global footprint to meet brokers and partners, and to liaise with her team in the US and UK.


She will join Beazley at the beginning of December 2018 and will work closely with Dan for a six-month transition period. She will also be joining Beazley’s executive committee.


Dan first joined Beazley as a non-executive director in 2006, a position he held until 2010 when he stepped down from the board to become Beazley’s first head of broker relations and marketing and a member of the executive committee.
