Guy Carpenter Appoints Canada President and CEO

Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist and a business of Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC), announced today the appointment of Peter Askew as President and CEO, of Guy Carpenter’s Canadian business, with immediate effect.

 

In this role, Mr. Askew will be responsible for maintaining the success of Guy Carpenter’s reinsurance broking activities in Canada, which includes both its Montreal and Toronto offices. He will focus on further expanding the depth and scope of solutions available to Canadian insurance providers to help meet their ever-evolving needs.

 

Donald Callahan has stepped down from the role of President and CEO of Guy Carpenter in Canada after 20 years, and will continue to support Mr. Askew. Mr. Callahan will remain with Guy Carpenter in Canada, dedicating his time and expertise to working closely with clients.

 

With over 25 years of experience in the Canadian (re)insurance industry and having held numerous leadership roles during his career, Mr. Askew brings an unparalleled level of market insight and client understanding to the role. Most recently, he was Managing Director, Guy Carpenter & Company, Ltd. in Canada, and prior to joining Guy Carpenter, he was Director of Canada, QBE Services Inc. (Canada).
