BIBA launches new scheme to support the media and entertainment sector

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) has launched a brand new member scheme from Yutree Underwriting...

...targeting firms operating in the media and entertainment sector.

The important economic contribution, and particular insurance requirements, of firms in this sector were highlighted during the pandemic and this new scheme enables BIBA member brokers to easily source cover designed for their clients’ needs.

The scheme offers a policy covering production exposures such as cancellation, abandonment or postponement and covers costs, cast and extra expenses, alongside property, liability, and business interruption cover. Professional indemnity and terrorism can also be included meaning that this is a comprehensive combined policy for this sector.

Mike Hallam, Head of Technical Services at BIBA said: “Creating this scheme was as a direct result of member requests.  Yutree is an independent provider that can dovetail their policy into the insurance programme our members offer their clients.  This is an important addition to our scheme portfolio.”

Laura Hancock, Director at Yutree added: “We are excited to be bringing this scheme to the BIBA membership at this time. We have been working with this sector for many years and 2020/21 has been a particular challenge for our broker clients. We have worked with the sector to support businesses and brokers through this time. As we emerge from the pandemic, we couldn’t be more delighted to be making our product and specialism available to BIBA members to help them to support their clients back to their feet.”
