Based in London, Warman joins Aon from Royal London Mutual Insurance Society, where he was Finance Systems and Change Director.
Reporting to Colin Forrest, chief executive officer of the Strategy and Technology Group, Warman will lead the development and growth of the life consulting capability globally, through leveraging existing client relationships and Aon’s market insights, whilst identifying new opportunities to broaden the actuarial support the Strategy and Technology Group can offer to its insurance clients.
A qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, he brings to Aon more than 30 years’ experience in the life insurance Industry, both in consulting and industry, with significant experience in M&A, capital management, operational efficiency/cost management and developing successful teams.
Warman joins Aon at a time when life insurers worldwide are facing significant challenges, arising from increasing regulatory scrutiny, margin compression, capital constraints, and lower barriers to entry, whilst needing to ensure their businesses manage costs robustly, embrace digital developments, and in many territories, address challenging distribution models.
Whilst building extensive new capabilities in the life and property and casualty markets, the Strategy and Technology Group will also work closely with other parts of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, for example the Life Reinsurance team, to deliver a holistic suite of solutions to existing and new clients.
Commenting on the appointment, Forrest said: “Having Gary join our growing team highlights the level of investment Aon is continuing to make in the talent and resources of the Strategy and Technology Group. We are delighted to welcome Gary to the firm to build our commitment to serving life insurers, and we know the wide experience and sharp commercial focus he brings to bear will help both drive our momentum and enable better business decisions for our clients.”
