Aon Adds Top Talent to Its Representations & Warranties Insurance Practice

Aon plc has announced that its Representations and Warranties Insurance Practice, which is part of...

its M&A and Transaction Solutions, has significantly enhanced its team by the addition of M&A insurance veteran, Julia Papastravridis, and four M&A attorneys from top firms, Matthew Edwards, Sandrine Emmanuel, Jerald Khoo, and John Kramp.

The addition of these new colleagues follows the installation last December of a Transaction Solutions leadership team comprised of industry veterans Gary Blitz, Allyson Coyne, Stephen Davidson, Jill Kerxton and Matthew Wiener. This talent positions Aon’s Representations and Warranties Insurance Practice, alongside Aon’s tax insurance and litigation insurance practices, to be able to continue as the industry’s thought leader with the depth and experience to advise clients on strategies and solutions that de-risk transactions and improve deal outcomes through high-quality execution and claims processes.

Based in New York City, Julia Papastavridis joins us as a Managing Director from Willis Towers Watson, where she was a senior transactional risk insurance broker. Julia also brings extensive experience to Aon from her prior positions as a representations & warranties insurance underwriter at AIG and Everest. Before joining the insurance industry, Julia was a corporate M&A associate at the law firms of Kramer Levin and Dentons.

Matthew Edwards, also based in New York City, joins us as a Vice President after a five-year legal career most recently at Ropes & Gray where he was an M&A associate in its Private Equity Transactions practice and represented private equity firms and their respective portfolio companies in connection with leveraged buyouts, platform acquisitions, sell-side transactions, joint ventures, growth equity and minority investments, and related strategic transactions. He previously worked at Winston & Strawn as a corporate associate.

Based in Toronto, Sandrine Emmanuel joins Aon from Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, where she focused on corporate and securities law and worked on a variety of large transactions, including initial public offerings, shareholder buyouts, and public and private mergers and acquisitions.

Jerald Khoo in New York City joins Aon as a Vice President from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he spent five years as an attorney in their M&A group and represented public and private companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions. He also brings experience in public company M&A, restructurings, joint ventures, investments, and other corporate transactions.

Based in Chicago, John Kramp joins Aon as a Vice President after a seven-year law career, most recently at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he practiced M&A and healthcare law and advised clients on structure and corporate law issues in health care transactions, including private equity acquisitions of physician practices, hospital acquisitions and joint ventures.

Gary Blitz, co-CEO of Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions and leader of the Transaction Solutions practice, said: “We are delighted to welcome Julia, Matt, Sandrine, Jerald and John to the team as we continue to lead the industry in innovation and further grow the transactions solutions business. Our solutions have become core parts of M&A, demonstrated by our ability to attract professionals with such impeccable credentials and backgrounds. The addition to the team of these new colleagues also demonstrates Aon’s commitment to maintaining our industry-leading position and first-rate execution capabilities for our clients, as well as our commitment to bringing colleagues with diverse backgrounds, voices and perspectives to further drive unique thought and innovation.”
